Start/Finish and Parking

There will be refreshments available at the start, and food available at the finish of the event.

Please note that there is no space for car parking at the start and many of the surrounding streets are permit or short stay parking. However there is plenty of parking in Pay and Display car parks within 100 yards of the start, and they are free on a Sunday.Map showing Start and Parking

Parking Bikes at the Control

Please note that the owners of the venue do not allow bikes inside on their carpet. Bikes will have to be left outside (or if you have come by car, straight back into your car). We are in the centre of Halifax; please ensure you have a decent lock!

Whalley Abbey café

Café Autisan, run by the Autistic Society,  is open in Whalley Abbey, and is being used as our first control stop. Please use this stop to get your card stamped by one of our team, even if you are not stopping at the café for food.

Glasson Dock café – Lantern O’er Lune

After six years of feeding riders and signing cards, Jonathan and Mel are retiring, so this will be the last year they will be acting as a control for us. We wish them well for the future.

The cafe breakfast menu finishes at 11:45am – but there are still some popular cyclists’ options on the menu, including Jacket potatoes, and fruit crumble and custard! Note that hot food is served up to 2:30pm, and the café closes at 3pm. If closed, get a receipt from the The Shop convenience store next door.
